Buried

I have been thinking about starting a yahoo group about adoption and race for a while now, but didn’t do it because I was too lazy. After a very very annoying conversation on a Group That Shall Remain Nameless, I had finally had enough and started the group.

I am tired of people claiming that talking about race is the same as bashing white people OR bashing America. That is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I am going to say it one more time, just in case no one noticed before.

Even if you are so selfish or uncompassionate that you just can’t bring yourself to see the scars that racism causes to real live people, you should want to get rid of it  because Racism hurts White people too.

Ok, I am off my soap box now.  Between the new group (80 members and counting),the stupid door project, and the fact that my job is actually starting to require me to actually do some work while I am at the office, I haven’t had much time to post here.

Surely something relatively interesting will happen to me sooner or later so I won’t have to bore you with the story of how Miss M fell off a chair and A was convinced she had a concussion (she is fine) or how very much I hate the evil that Trading Spaces-style home (un)improvements the last owner of this house made.

Oh, and if you are interested in joining the new group but haven’t adopted from China, you totally should join.  When I started the list, I just picked the name without thinking because it had such a nice an easy acronym: CHARM*.  But it would be great to have a more diverse perspective represented  at CHARM.

* What I was actually thinking was: " You want to see me bash some White people?  I am pretty close to wanting to bash a couple of White people RIGHT FUCKING NOW."  But instead of sending that to the List, I just started my own CHARMing group instead.  Take that motherfucker!@!
