Crunky

Do you think that “crunk” has made it into the Japanese slang vocabulary or is it just a misspelling?

  • Actually, Lotte is a Korean company (though they are multinational and have a presence in Japan too) so I think that’s more of a Konglish word. I don’t usually like Korean chocolate bars, but Crunky is really good! It’s similar to Nestle Crunch, but I think the rice in the Crunky has a more toasty flavor that reminds me a little bit of Korean scorched rice tea.

  • Crunky bars are awesome. D always brings them back for me when he goes to Tokyo on business. Mmmm…

I think it`s a sure sign that I lived in Japan for TOO long, that it doesn`t even sound weird to me.

I have some lemon drops in a box that says, “Violence,” and I drink “Pocari Sweat,” too.
