After admitting to the disasterous state of my car last week, I decided to take the bull by the horns.  We had a little warm weather left, so I let the girls roll around in the mud play in the yard while I emptied the car.

In no particular order, a list of the items I removed from my Ford Taurus:

-7 pieces of 6 foot-long lumber to be used in finishing the basement

-4 clean towels and 2 hand towels I won in a christmas exhange (and do not like)

-2 brand new jump ropes, intended to be Xmas presents for M…oops.

-a computer game also a xmas present for M, now a birthday present in feb.

-a pack of 10 notebooks purchased in august in the back to school sales

-a plastic shoebox that was supposed to be refilled with spare clothing for M to have at school, sent home with me this summer when she got muddy.  ooops.

-Filled-out medical form for M’s preschool.  Due last September.  Ooops.

-aerosol sunscreen I lost in approximately june

-Unopened John Denver and the Muppets Christmas CD bought during the after-xmas sales LAST YEAR that I spent HOURS looking for this christmas.

-pack of colored pencils, box of crayons.  new. Probably from back to school sales.

-12 pack of Mt.Dew (not diet, with caffiene) which we do not drink. Purchased by Mr. A who swore he was going to return it to the store and exchange it (can you even do that with food??)  probably back in October.

-Clothing: One pair of my underwear (WTF?? I am not in high school! why are my underwear in the car??), 1 M’s sweater, 2 my sweatshirts, 1 pair L’s velour pants, one M’s summer tank top, one one winter hat, 3 mismatched gloves and mittens

-one brand new pair of men’s work gloves (?!?), one can of spray caulk stuff

-one half full can of dry formula, one bottle of formula, three coffee mugs

-miscellaneous toys

-one fleece blanket from a picnic in july

-one not very good custom painting of M and her cousin G by an artist my aunt knows

-three high school yearbooks

-sing and learn Chinese songbook, in the car from when I sent a copy to my friend BEFORE WE WENT TO CHINA last february

-4 small tupperwares of goldfish crackers

-one pack of graham crackers, completely pulverized all over the carpet

-one baby rearview mirror thingy

-one tube of lotion, three packs of wipes, two swim diapers, one regular diaper that is way way too small for L

-one comic book based on the life of Buddha, one David Sedaris book, four old weekly local papers, stacks and stacks of M’s school work

-$4.00

That is all I can remember, but I assure you there was a lot more.

The girls got cold before I could vaccuum it out, so it still isn’t clean by any stretch of the imagination.  There is a lot more room though.   Jeesh.
