I don&#039;t buy much furniture either, and I have been struggling with this with my dining table-it does expand, but it is an antique mission style table and the leaves disappeared long before I got it. When I have dinner parties, this limitation always determines who I invite for a sit down-or whether I go with buffet...      ~lmc</description>
