I hate them but I'm curious as to how other people answer them. I hate to admit that I have this stupid need to talk about "what I used to do" or "what I will be doing in the future" - drives me crazy that I feel this way but somehow "I'm currently staying home with my daughter" or any variation (I hate all these terms but here they go: stay at home mom, housewife, homemaker, etc.) just get me very condescending responses or worse...pity. Ugh It doesn't help that I'm surrounded by women who can't understand why I'm not working (this includes family!!!). Also, what kind of work (paid kind) would you like to do in the future...nonprofit again....any specific field of interest. How do you answer (if it comes up) the “what do you do?” type questions.
