Four Truths and a Lie
I always liked this party game. Four of these are true, only one isn’t. Can you guess which one is the lie?
1.) I still have a blankey and I sleep with it every night. I love my blanket so much, I cut it in half to take it with me when I traveled to Europe and Asia. I left half of it in Cambodia as a bribe for Mr. A to stop smoking (He hated the blanket). The half I have left is more holes than blanket. I will probably keep this blanket until it completely disinegrates.
2.) I once had platinum blonde hair. I bleached it myself with bleach from Sally’s. I am obviously not cut out to be a colorist, because eventually huge chunks of my hair fell out. I ended up shaving off all but about 2-3 inches on the very top. I do not have a head that looks attractive bald. I haven’t colored my hair since. I did bleach Mr. A’s hair after that but it only turned a strange shade of orange before I chickened out an made him go to a salon to finish the job.
3.) In 1988-89, while I wasn’t exactly having sex, I did some heavy petting on my 7th grade Jr. High track bus. And also on the high jump pits in the school gym. And behind the curtains of the school stage. And under the football bleechers during a high school football game. And in my boyfriend’s basement. And in my basement. And in several of our friends’ basements. It was a fun year.
4.) I once posed for topless photos at the request of my boyfriend. His asshole roommate stole the negatives and at least one of the photos is now floating around the internet. No. I will not tell you where. These are the only photos I have of my pre-pregnancy boobs, so I don’t actually regret taking the pictures.
5) When I was about 11, I held my sister over the top of a flight of stairs by her ankles and seriously considered dropping her. My parents left us home alone together for the summer and we spend the entire time fighting and making each other miserable. Lucky for my sister, she was pretty skinny so I didn’t drop her accidentally.

I’m going with number 4 too-based on what I know of your dating history, not because I can imagine you bleaching your hair with Sally’s ; ) I’m thinking of playing, but also thinking it might be tmi… ~lmc
I’ll vote for number 4 as well.
I’m voting for #1. My blankie fell apart years ago, despite my best efforts to keep it intact. If yours is still holding together I am very, very impressed.
Ummm, #4 is a lie.
I would truly suck at this game because any lie I came up with would be totally lame…

I’m with everyone else, it’s gotta be 4. ifit was true, somehow, this would have come up in the time I’ve known you. I can totally see you bleaching your hair, I’m pretty sure you’ve mentioned the blanket before, we’re all done horrible things to our siblings and the petting in highschool…. well, who hasn’t?!
My instinct was 5, will be interested to know if 4 is it.
Hmmm. My first impression would be #1. Topless photos don’t surprise me that much (for some reason?). And you never seemed like the blankie type to me. The hair dye thing doesn’t surprise me because IIRC you were a rave girl. Making out under the bleachers and sister abuse seem pretty par for the course. Oh, man. This probably says more about me than it does you.
I also think #4. I think that you’ve mentioned that you don’t have pre-pregnancy boob photos? I remember the hair story. I’m really interested to hear which it is!
I’m guessing #4 with #1 a close second. I’ve played this game before, but I’ve never been this creative with either my truths or my lie!
I’m going for number 1. Because I don’t think blankies last this long. At least the blankies I had.

Ah-reading comprehension, says the lit major-I missed the home alone all summer part. If that’s what you meant to say, then I’m sure it’s a lie. I seem to remember your sister is several years younger than you?

I’ll cast my vote for 2. Why not. Give it up for number 2. When you say your parents left you and your sister alone for the summer, I read that as during the day. And not for weeks on end. Because my parents were probably the only ones who did that sort of thing, and not til I was 15. Or 16.
I think #2 is the lie.
I guess I’m the only one that thinks it’s #3. Since you were in 7th grade, it seems unlikely that you would be making out under high school bleachers. And, even though kids are that sexually active now, 20 years ago? I’m not so sure. (Granted, I got a slow start, but still!) I think it’s still too young to be so exhibitionary about your petting.
Or, can you define “heavy petting”?
I’m gonna go with door #4. Not true!
