Is there anyone out there who may know how to fix my computer problem? When I read other people’s password protected posts in wordpress, I can’t access the post even though I enter the correct password. It just gives me a blank page.
Any ideas? It is really, really annoying.
Edited to add: I also tried to login with foxfire and the same damn thing happened, so it must be my computer, right?
Also, the blank page is giving me the address of blogpage/wp-pass.php WTFityFF!?!
Problem solved, but I am going to leave this here for internet posterity. My computer had TWO firewalls running at the same time and this was causing a problem. Once I turned the Computer Associates Personal Firewall off, passwords started working again. yay!
After entering the password, hit Ctrl+F5 (on PC or Mac equiv.) to reload the page. I’m not 100% that it will work but give it a shot.
It could be an issue with a password plugin as well.
For me, it says I have the incorrect log in and gives me the log in page again. But then up in the corner of the page it says, “Go back to [name of website I'm trying to get to].” When I click that, it takes me to the page I want. It doesn’t sound like you’re having quite the same issue, but I thought I’d post just in case.
I don’t know what browser you are using, but I know of a couple of blogs that I could get into password protected posts when I was using Firefox, but not when using Internet Explorer. This was when using the same computer, same password. I hope that helps. I don’t know of anything else it could be.
