I had to stop at home to put some tissues in my pocket. I keep getting weepy over the significance of this election.
(And also, I needed a cold soda.)

I’ve been getting all teared up too. Even the early voting got me choked up.
I cried last week while reading my daughter a book about the electoral process.
She was kind of confused.
Oh believe me, you’re not the only one. The following (said by a voter interviewed on NPR) set me off again today:
“Rosa sat so Martin could walk…
Martin walked, so Obama could run…
Obama is running so our children can fly!”
Right there with you–this morning I called a voter who was deceased but I spoke with her husband instead. He seemed so happy to have someone to talk to about the election, and about his wife; I think we chatted for almost 10 minutes. It made me weepy, na dit was the best part about volunteering for the campaign.
Viv, We heard that quote on an NPR interview last week. It made such an impression on my nine year old that I’ve heard him repeat it several times since. I don’t think the 5 and 7 y. olds across the street got much out of it, but the nice lady at Target was thrilled.

I TOTALLY teared up when I walked into the polls this morning.
